COURSE DESCRIPTION & MAP

 

The TACKY 10km event - Starting on the trail just north of the parking area, athletes will

head north along the trail. At the T-intersection, athletes will turn east and follow the pathway

to the 2.5km turnaround point. Return along the same pathway. Before turning south to the

finish, athletes will turnaround to complete another lap!

 

The FESTIVE 5km event - Starting at the same point as the 10km event, athletes will

complete 1 lap of the above route.

 

The Furry Fun 3km - a simple out and back course along the trail!

Enjoy the scenery and bathe in the glow of all those festive holiday sweaters!



EVENT ITINERARY

 

Race Package Pickup


The distribution of race numbers and toques (for the first 100 entrants) takes place at from 4:30pm-6:30pm at TBD

Race day pickup will occur onsite from 12:45pm-1:45pm.

Race Day - Saturday, November 24


12:45pm - 1:45am Late package pickup (Onsite)

1:45pm Pre-race briefing

2:00pm 10km Start

2:15pm 5km Start

2:30pm 2km Start

3:00pm Draw Prizes

HOW TO LOCATE THE EVENT SITE


SOUTH GLENMORE PARK

The event starts and finishes at South Glenmore Park.

Access is via 90th ave and 24th Street SW. From that intersection head west along 90th Ave

to the parking area next to the polo field (90th ave and Oakmount Dr).


PARKING

Parking is available next to the event site, as well as in the east parking lot (90th ave & 24th

Street SW). Please arrive early as parking is 'first come-first serve'.



RACEDAY REGISTRATION


Registration will take place at the race site @ South Glenmore Park

If you have already received your race kit, you do not need to check-in.

This is also the site of the finish line.


BAGGAGE CHECK


A baggage tent will be available next to the registration tent. Volunteers will place labels with

your race # on them. To retrieve your bag after the event, please ensure you have your bib #.

$2.00 per bag – funds donated to our charity!


WASHROOMS


Every runner’ biggest concern! We will have porta-potties at the registration/finish.


WATER STATIONS


The course will have refreshments at the 2.5km point and finishline!


THE FINISH LINE


Just past the finish, you will find muffins, hot chocolate & more!

Our medical services will also be available here.



RACE ETIQUETTE & INFORMATION


Start – Please seed yourself according to your own pace. Fast runners to the front of each

race start. Please heed the ‘rules of the road’ (eg. Stay to the right) unless otherwise stated.

IPods/MP3 players are allowed – BUT you have to be able to hear our volunteers, keep that

Course - Please follow the instructions of all course marshals. These volunteers are out there

to help protect you! The course is open to pedestrian and vehicle traffic (at certain locations).

Please be aware at all times.

Dogs – all pet by-laws are in effect.
